Steampunk Convention Set For Aug. 8-10

The Steampunk Convention is coming to the ChooChoo on Aug. 8, 9 and 10.  This is a new convention concentrating on the Steampunk and Gothic genres. 

The event will include vendors, guests panelists, exhibits and live entertainment on Friday and Saturday night.  Organizers are still booking vendors and guests and will be updating the website as more information becomes available. 

The music guest on Saturday, Aug. 9, will be Aurelio Voltaire

Father Killed By Train Just After Pushing Daugter To Safety In East Brainerd

A 31-year-old man was killed just after he pushed his 10-year-old daughter to safety in an encounter with a train on a trestle in East Brainerd on Thursday afternoon.
