Normal Park Museum Magnet Wins Education Consumers Foundation’s Value-Added Achievement Award For 3rd Consecutive Year

Monday, May 05, 2014

Normal Park Museum Magnet Faculty will receive the school’s third consecutive award on Friday at 2 p.m. in a celebration at the upper school’s recently-constructed outdoor classroom. A balloon-filled event will include popsicles and Normal Park sunglasses for all students.

Normal Park Museum Magnet School has been awarded the Education Consumers Foundation’s Value-Added Achievement Award for the third consecutive year.

The Education Consumers Foundation launched the Value-Added Achievement Awards in Tennessee in 2006. This annual awards initiative was created to recognize the most effective principals and schools in the state, while at the same time building awareness and understanding of the state's value-added data system (the Tennessee Value-Added Assessment System, or TVAAS).

These are the leaders whose schools have excelled at raising the academic performance of their students. The program is part of the Education Consumers Foundation’s efforts to make education data clear and understandable to education's consumers.
