Mayor Berke's Chattanooga Forward Initiative Public Input Meeting Is Thursday

Mayor Berke's Chattanooga Forward initiative will host a public input meeting this Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. at Rivermont Elementary School, 3330 Hixson Pike.

Along with similar groups concerned with housing, technology, downtown, entertainment, and arts and culture, a Sports and Outdoors Committee will solicit public input on how the city's development as an outdoor mecca should proceed, and what Outdoor Chattanooga's role should be in that development.

Segment Of Yellow Trail Closed At Chickamauga Battlefield

Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park is advising the public that a .73 mile segment of the Yellow Trail in Chickamauga Battlefield will be closed effective March 27, and will remain closed until further notice.  The section of trail that is closed runs parallel to Reed’s Bridge Road, in between the parking pull-off areas for the Blue Trail and the Green Trail. ... 3 New Members Join TFWC; Largemouth Bass Record Holder Visits Meeting

The man who broke the state record for a largemouth bass was recognized at the March meeting of the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission on Thursday. In addition, the TFWC welcomed three new members. Cleveland, Tn., Production Company Owner Charged With Defrauding Church Of God Of $100,000

The head of a Cleveland, Tn., production company has been charged with defrauding the Cleveland-based Church of God International of $100,000 in connection with his part in setting up the church's world convention in Orlando, Fla., in 2010. Family Escapes Sunday Morning Blaze

A Chattanooga family was getting ready for church Sunday morning when they heard a loud pop on the back side of the house. The pop they heard was apparently a window breaking from intense flames on the outside of the house.
