Tennessee State Parks’ Junior Ranger Camps Gearing Up For The Summer

Tennessee State Parks’ Junior Ranger Camps are once again gearing up for another summer of fun, adventure and educational opportunities for children ages six to 14.

Parks across the state will begin hosting camps in June. For a list of participating parks, along with scheduled camp dates, visit http://tnstateparks.com/get-involved/jr-rangers. To sign up for a camp, contact the park office to receive an application.

There are two ways to become an official Tennessee State Parks’ Junior Ranger. Interested kids ages six-14 may attend a Junior Ranger Camp or complete a series of activities found in the Junior Ranger Adventure Guide, which is available at any state park.

Tennessee’s 54 state parks offer diverse natural, recreational and cultural experiences for individuals, families, or business and professional groups. State park features range from pristine natural areas to 18-hole championship golf courses. There is a state park within an hour’s drive of just about anywhere in the state, offering a variety of recreational, lodging and dining choices. Completed Application Required For Hunting And Fishing Guide Licenses Beginning In 2017-18

Tennessee sportsmen and non-residents, who work as hunting and fishing guides in the state, will now have to complete an application for their licenses beginning with the 2017-18 license year. Man, Child Killed In Crash On Highway 136 In Walker County; 2nd Child Seriously Injured

  A man and an unrestrained five-year-old child were killed when a vehicle went out of control on Highway 136 in Walker County on Saturday. A 10-year-old in the car was seriously injured.
