Woman Accidentally Shot When Friend Attempts To Unload A Handgun

A woman was shot on Thursday night.

At approximately 11:45 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to 124 South Moss Ave. for a person shot. Officers discovered that the woman was accidentally shot in the foot while a friend attempted to unload a handgun. The victim suffered a single gunshot wound to her foot and refused EMS transport, but was transported by a family member to a local hospital. 

Investigators do not believe this was intentional and the case is being ruled as an accidental shooting.
