Blood Drive In Honor Of Josh Manning Set For May 24

A blood drive in honor of Josh Manning will take place on Saturday, May 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bethel Temple, 6613 Hixson Pike in Hixson. Josh was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in March. He is a reservist with the 327th Chemical Unit. Contact Leslie Haynes at 423-667-9992 to sign up to donate in honor of Josh.

To be eligible to donate blood, you must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with parental consent), weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good health. The process usually takes about 30 minutes and includes a complimentary snack and t-shirt.

Donors are asked to drink plenty of fluids - avoiding caffeine - and eat a meal that is rich in iron prior to donating.
