6 Have Picked Up For East Ridge City Council

Six people have picked up thus far in the East Ridge City Council contests.

Open seats include those held by Vice Mayor Jim Bethune and Larry Sewell. Marc Gravitt is not seeking re-election, but is taking a state House seat.

Mr. Bethune is running for mayor along with Frances Pope. They have both qualified to be on the ballot.

Picking up for council are Robert Stahl, Jacky Cagle, John F. Clemmer, Doris Rogers, Brian White and Robert Bedwell. Mr. Stahl, Ms. Cagle and Ms. Rogers have qualified.

Red Bank Mayor John Roberts is the only contender thus far for Red Bank Commissioner at Large.

Eric Fairchild and David R. Smith have picked up for District 1.

Jane Hosemann has qualified for District 3.

Chris Howley has qualified to run for Signal Mountain Town Council.

Susan Robertson and Robert Spalding have picked up.

William Neighbors and Valerie Boddy have picked up for Lakesite Commission.

Phil Garver has picked up for Collegedale Commission.


2nd Independent Candidate May Be On Walker County Ballot

A second Independent candidate may be on the ballot for sole commissioner of Walker County in the election on Nov. 8. Perry D. Lamb, Jr. has been working toward collecting the necessary 1,640 signatures of registered voters on a petition. His campaign said he is close to the goal. Pair Sought In Carjacking On Mountain Creek Road

Two men are being sought in connection with a carjacking on Mountain Creek Road early Thursday morning. The Chattanooga Police Department responded to the incident in the 1100 block of Mountain Creek Rd. Upon arrival police made contact with the female victim. Red Bank Stays Unbeaten With Win Over Waterdogs

The Red Bank Gators are now a win away from claiming first place in the White division of the Chattanooga Area Swim League.
