Special Events Street Closures for June 11-15

Tuesday, June 10, 2014

East 14th St. between Olive St. and Gulf St. will be closed from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday  for the Habitat for Humanity Builder Blitz.

St Elmo Ave. between West 35th St. and Holmes St. will be closed from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Friday for the M.V.P. Summer Program Block Party.

ML King Blvd. between Broad St. and Georgia Ave. and Market St. between East 8th St. and East 10th St. will be closed from 5:30 p.m. to midnight on for the Nightfall Concert Series.  The 800 block of Cherry St.

will be closed at ML King Blvd. and will only be accessible from East 8th St. There will be limited handicapped parking in the 900 block of Georgia Ave. on the Miller Park side on the meters covered with Orange "reserved" bags.

South Beech St.between Union Ave. and Kirby Ave. will be closed from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday for the Highland Park Fiesta.

Reggie White Blvd. between West 19th St. and the entrance to the Skate Park will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday for the Chattanooga Market.




Salvation Army Launches Holiday Assistance Programs In Tennessee Valley

Walker County Holds Fundraisers For Stocking Full Of Love

The Walker County Stocking Full of Love will have two fundraisers, on Oct. 23 at the Rock Spring location, and Nov. 6, at the Fort Oglethorpe location. Jo Ann Cronan Charged With Bribing Voters In Polk County; Similar Probe Underway In Monroe County

A Polk County woman has been charged with bribing voters. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation began an investigation on July 24 into allegations of illegal activities related to the August general election in Polk County. Shooting At Woodlawn Apartments Claims Life Of 20-Year-Old Male; Victim Shot Multiple Times

A shooting late Monday night at the Woodlawn Apartments has claimed the life of a 20-year-old male.
