Special Events Street Closures for June 11-15

Tuesday, June 10, 2014

East 14th St. between Olive St. and Gulf St. will be closed from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday  for the Habitat for Humanity Builder Blitz.

St Elmo Ave. between West 35th St. and Holmes St. will be closed from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Friday for the M.V.P. Summer Program Block Party.

ML King Blvd. between Broad St. and Georgia Ave. and Market St. between East 8th St. and East 10th St. will be closed from 5:30 p.m. to midnight on for the Nightfall Concert Series.  The 800 block of Cherry St.

will be closed at ML King Blvd. and will only be accessible from East 8th St. There will be limited handicapped parking in the 900 block of Georgia Ave. on the Miller Park side on the meters covered with Orange "reserved" bags.

South Beech St.between Union Ave. and Kirby Ave. will be closed from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday for the Highland Park Fiesta.

Reggie White Blvd. between West 19th St. and the entrance to the Skate Park will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday for the Chattanooga Market.

Weekly Road Construction Report

Here is the weekly road construction report for Hamilton County:   U.S. 27 (I-124) widening from I-24/U.S. 27 interchange to north of the Olgiati Bridge over the Tennessee River, including widening the Olgiati Bridge:  Work on this project continues.  The speed limit on U.S. 27 in the construction zone has been lowered to 45 MPH.  The contractor may have ... Cleveland High School On Lockdown After Veiled Threats Made On Social Media Thursday Morning; Lockdown Later Lifted

Walker County Will No Longer Have Full-Time County Attorney Under Whitfield Tenure; Will Add Full-Time Communications Director

Incoming Walker County Sole Commissioner Shannon Whitfield said under his administration there will no longer be a full-time county attorney. "We will outsource this service on a fee basis," he said.
