Police Investigate Burglary Of Large Amount Of Cash At Bessie Smith Hall

Chattanooga Police responded to a burglary at the Bessie Smith Hall at 200 East ML King Blvd. at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.  

Investigators learned that between midnight and 10 a.m. Tuesday, an unknown suspect forced entry into the building.  Once inside, the suspect broke into one of the rooms and took a large amount of cash.   

The loss included proceeds from the Bessie Smith Strut, which was held Monday night.-

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this crime to call 698-2525.

 The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
