Danny McKenzie
Danny Eugene McKenzie, 67, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, died on June 9, 2014.
He lived most of his life in Chattanooga but Alabama was always his home and his team. He was born in Anniston, Al., and graduated from Section High School in 1964. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Danny retired from Lectrus Corporation (Formerly Metal Systems) where he served for many years, most recently as vice president. He was the son of the late Aubry and Naomi McKenzie.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Wilson McKenzie; daughter Angie (Mike) Hart of Soddy Daisy; son, Bryan (Brooke) McKenzie of Trenton, Ga.; brothers James (Joyce) McKenzie of Woodville, Al., Buddy (Sorita) McKenzie of Trenton, Ga.; sister Brenda (Terry) Hamlin of Section, Al., sister-in-law, Carole Wilson of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Corey Gray, Christa Sanders, Kyle Deabler, Cameron McKenzie, Cody McKenzie, and Carter McKenzie; great-grandson Jaxtyn Sanders, and several nieces and nephews.
Danny will be remembered for his dedication and devotion to those he loved. He was a hard worker and always there to lend a hand, often before he was even asked. He loved the beach and made the most of his retirement enjoying traveling and camping with his wife.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Ed Wright officiating and Jimmy Steffner will provide a eulogy. The interment will follow in the Lakewood Memory Gardens-East.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Danny's name to the American Cancer Society.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, and one hour prior to the funeral service at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road.
