The Honoring the Sacrifice Foundation hosted its first American Heroes Dinner at the Chattanoogan hotel.
The organization was founded in the fall of 2013 by Sgt. Andrew Smith and his wife Tori to help other severely-wounded veterans.
The dinner was sold out as the large crowd "gathered to honor and remember those who have sacrificed for our freedom."
The keynote speaker was Col Danny McKnight (U.S. Army retired) who is best known for his involvement in the Battle of Mogadishu, better known as 'Black Hawk Down'.
Special guests in attendance included Medal of Honor recipient Charles Coolidge, General B.B. Bell, Admiral Vance Fry, Congressman Chuck Fleischmann, former Congressman Zach Wamp as well as five young men who were severely wounded in Afghanistan in 2012.
