The Dalton State College trail system has been the beneficiary of two enterprising young men who recently constructed bridges on the Cascade Trail that runs through the college woods near The James E. Brown Center.

Ryan Clark, assisted by members of Boy Scout troop 111, completed his bridge as his Eagle Project. Ethan Calhoun, a graduate of Dalton State with a bachelor’s degree in biology, singlehandedly constructed his bridge as a lasting gift to the College.

Materials for both bridges were provided by funds from the Dalton State Foundation.

Dalton State’s trail system consists of three interconnected trails accessible from George Rice Drive on the west side of the campus. The trail heads are clearly marked and are available for community use.
