Amazon Hiring 100 More Workers At Bradley County Facility

  • Thursday, June 12, 2014

Amazon is hiring more than 100 full-time positions with benefits starting on day one at its fulfillment center at Charleston, Tn., in Bradley County.

Amazon is hiring "in order to meet growing customer demand," officials said.

Bradley County Mayor Gary Davis said, “Amazon’s announcement of more than 100 new full-time jobs at the Charleston fulfillment center, with the comprehensive benefits that come along with them, including health insurance, 401(k) and pre-payment for college tuition, is exciting and welcome news.

“During the past few years we have seen the unemployment rate in the county drop considerably, due in part to Amazon. We are grateful for their continued investment in the community.”

The Charleston facility first opened in September 2011 when it shipped its first order, a Bumbo baby seat, to a customer in South Carolina.

The hourly positions will pick, pack and ship customer orders. In addition to competitive wages, employees are immediately eligible for comprehensive benefits that include health insurance, 401(k) with 50 percent match, bonuses, company stock awards and a network of support to ensure employees succeed. Amazon also offers full-time employees innovative programs like Career Choice, where the company will pre-pay up to 95 percent of tuition for courses related to in-demand fields, regardless of whether the skills are relevant to a career at Amazon.
