Lane Closures For June 16-19

There will be a lane closure in the 7900 block of Shallowford Road between Jenkins Road and Ranch Hills Drive, for a sewer relining project on Monday, from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.   This is a simple flagging operation with very little delay to traffic expected. 

East Elmwood Drive under US 27 will be closed beginning Tuesday at noon to set bridge beams overhead.   The crane will remain in place until all of the beams are set.   East Elmwood Drive is scheduled to reopen by Thursday at 5 p.m.   Detours will be posted using Whitehall Road and Manning Street.    

West 12th Street between Broad Street and Chestnut Street will be closed for building maintenance on Wednesday. Hours of operation will be 8:30 a.m to 4 p.m, one day only.  Detours will be posted using Broad Street, West 11th Street and Chestnut Street.

Westfield Charged In Burning, Torture Of Kitten At Cleveland

An arrest has been made in the case of a kitten who was burned and tortured in Cleveland, Tn. At 12:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Gary A. Westfield, 31, of Cleveland, was placed in custody on a warrant obtained by Lt. Robert Harbison and Detective Matt Jenkins of the Criminal Investigations Division.
