Abel Carmona, 20, Shot And Killed At Dalton

The Dalton Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened shortly before midnight in the parking lot of 214 N. Easterling St.

At approximately 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, officers were dispatched to a report of gunshots fired in the parking lot. Responding officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest lying on the ground.

The victim was identified as 20-year-old Abel Carmona of 1408 Nolan Road in Dalton.

He was transported to Hamilton Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

At this time there is no suspect in custody. 

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation assisted with processing the scene.
