Chattanooga holds the title “Eighth Least Healthy City” in the nation with 29 percent obesity and 35 percent high blood pressure rates. Rick Johnson, president and CEO of Governor Bill Haslam's newly formed Governor’s Foundation for Health and Wellness, will be in Chattanooga to speak on the new Healthier Tennessee initiative’s progress towards a healthier state.
The event will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the Foundry at the Chattanoogan, 1201 Broad St.
Several healthcare-focused startups from Co.Lab will hold an expo meet-and-greet session prior to the noon meeting at 11:30 a.m. The teams will educate attendees on their initiatives, which include 3DOps (GIGTANK 2014), Cognitics Inc. (GIGTANK 2014), FwdHealth (GIGTANK 2013) and Picture Wellness (CO.LAB Accelerator - Fall 2013).
