PO2 Vespie Seeks Help For Veterans

Friday, June 20, 2014

Hunter Vespie, a 16-year-old in the United States Navel Sea Cadets Corps-Signal Mountain Division, is raising money for Phones for Vets.  The Daughters of the American Revolution project provides disposable phones for VA hospital patients.

The phones cost $12 each and are designed to lie flat on a bed or table.  The phones are given to the veterans to take home with them when they leave the facility.  The one-piece phones are light-weight with large, raised number buttons that are easy to see. The telephones allow patients to make and receive calls.

PO2 Vespie will be collecting money until July 31.  Her goal is give 100 phones to East Tennessee veterans.  She may be reached at misshunter24@hotmail.com.
