City Says Pay Up On Sewer Bill Or Water Service Will Be Cut

Friday, June 20, 2014

The city plans to cut off the water at homes and businesses that have not paid their sewer bill unless they come up with the money by Tuesday, city officials said Friday.

Officials said, "Water service interruption will begin for commercial and residential locations with overdue sewer bills of $1,000 or more (approximately 100 commercial and 25 residential locations).

"Water service interruption for overdue sewer bills of less than $1,000 will begin July 7.

"Multiple attempts to notify property owners of their overdue billing status have occurred, including notices included on monthly bills and multiple phone calls.

"Property owners with overdue sewer bills are strongly encouraged to contact 423-425-6311 to establish a payment plan and avoid water service interruption.

"If you have questions or concerns about Chattanooga sewer services, please contact 423-425-6311."
