Man Shot And Killed In Rental Car Near Brainerd Freeway Was Cedric Mikes

A man who was shot and killed in a rental car near the I-24 freeway in Brainerd early Wednesday morning has been identified as 32-year-old Cedric Mikes.

Police initially responded to what was believed to be an accident at South Terrace and Moore Road shortly after 2 a.m..

The rental car was down an embankment.

A black male who had been shot and killed was found inside.

The driver's side window was broken and there was blood on the door.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this crime to call 423-698-2525.




Home Damaged, Dog Killed In House Fire Friday Afternoon

East Ridge police detectives have made several arrests in the Feb. 20 murder of Reginald Ballard. Mr. Ballard was found dead at the Cascades Motel at 3625 Ringgold Road.
