Tennessee State Parks Kicks Off New ZIPstream Aerial Adventure At Fall Creek Falls

Tennessee State Parks, ArborTrek Canopy Adventures and Adventure Guild, LLC are hosting a ribbon cutting on Friday at Fall Creek Falls State Park to kick off the new ZIPStream Aerial Adventure Park. 

ZIPStream Fall Creek Falls will be open to the public daily during the summer season and on weekends in the spring and fall. The 2.5-hour, self-guided experience allows visitors to explore the course at their own pace. Six routes will be available, each consisting of eight-13 elements and graded from easy to extreme, reaching heights of 40 feet.

The course will incorporate a new system, which ensures 100% connectivity to the flexible lifelines that run above the elements. Certified guides will be present to provide instruction, encouragement and assistance.

 


Trail Repair Work Beginning On Red Trail In Chickamauga Battlefield

The National Park Service is advising the beginning of repair work on a 1.09 mile section of the Red Trail located in the northwest corner of the Chickamauga Battlefield. Erlanger Health System CEO Kevin Spiegel has written Walker County Commissioner Bebe Heiskell to say that Erlanger would consider taking payments on the $8,705,000 Hutcheson debt. Customer At East Ridge Gas Station Shoots And Kills Robber; He Had Been Trying To Take Female Clerk With Him

East Ridge Police said a customer at an East Ridge gas station early Thursday morning shot a robber, who was then found by police lying outside the station and was arrested.  The robber has died.  His name is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
