Evelyn Barrett, 80, died on May23, 2014.
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Evelyn Meeks Barrett, died at Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Dordrecht, South Holland, Netherlands on the morning of Friday, May 23, 2014. She will be missed by many.
Born June 20, 1933 in Dumas, Ar., she lived in Texas, North Carolina, Alabama, and Tennessee. She was a case manager for many years with Memorial North Park Hospital until retiring. She was a longtime supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Homer Dale Barrett, daughters, Kathalynn Barrett Beck and Dr. Deborah Barrett Boring; a son Homer Dale Barrett, Jr.; two sons-in-law; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters. Evelyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Grace Barrett.
Funeral services will be held at Chattanooga Funeral Home – North Chapel on Saturday, June 7, at 3:30 p.m. with burial immediately following at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 6, from 6-8 p.m. at the North Chapel.
