Robber Shoots Clerk In Stomach At Save A Ton On Lee Highway

A robber shot a clerk in the stomach at a grocery on Lee Highway on Sunday night.

At approximately 9:34 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to 6675 Lee Highway at the Save a Ton for a robbery.  Officers were advised that a man walked inside, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. 

During the robbery, the suspect fired a shot at the clerk striking him in the stomach.  The clerk was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. 

The suspect fled on foot with an unknown amount of cash.  Officers and investigators canvassed the area but were unable to locate him. 

A picture of the suspect was taken from the surveillance video of the store.  Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this crime to call 423-698-2525

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
