A man was struck and killed early Saturday morning after lying down on Dayton Pike following an argument.
Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said the victim was from Greeneville, Tn.
He said the incident happened around 3 a.m. near the Thomas farm.
Chief Hamrick said the victim was a member of a crew working on cell towers in the area. They were staying at a motel in Rhea County, but had visited a bar in Soddy Daisy prior to the incident.
He said the driver who struck the man stopped and called police.
Chief Hamrick said the victim was one of four people in a pickup truck. He said the group got into an argument, then the truck pulled over and they got out.
The owner of the company truck said the victim was arguing with his girlfriend.
