Riverbend Gets Underway Friday; Nearby U.S. 27 Exits To Close At 10 PM Each Night Of Festival

The Riverbend Festival gets underway Friday with Gary Allan on the Coke Stage.

Riverbend runs through Saturday of next week.

There will be the following Highway 27 exit closures during each evening of Riverbend:

-          4th Street exits traveling North/South bound

-          Manufacturers Road exits traveling North/South bound

 These exits will be closed each night of Riverbend from 10 p.m. to midnight to assist with traffic and crowd control. 

Police said, "Anyone wishing to pick up after the evening festivities will need to arrive prior to 10 p.m. to do so."


Bike-Walk Chattanooga will host the annual, free bicycle valet service at the south end of the Walnut St. Bridge, every evening during the festival, except Monday, June 9.

Tahere To Perform At Lee Tuesday

16-Year-Old Shot Near Emma Wheeler Homes

A 16-year-old was shot near Emma Wheeler Homes on Sunday night. At approximately 7:40 p.m., Chattanooga Police received a call of a person shot from a local hospital. Officers spoke to the victim, a 16-year-old black male, who was transported to a local hospital in a personal vehicle. The victim’s injury is minor and non-life threatening. Helen Burns Sharp Asks Recovery Of Legal Fees In Successful Black Creek TIF Lawsuit

Helen Burns Sharp, citizen activist who sued to try to stop a $9 million Black Creek Tax Increment Financing (TIF) and won, is seeking to have her legal expenses paid by the city and the developers.
