Michael Lynn Hampton, 73, of Rossville, died on Sunday, June 8, 2014.
He was born to the late Blaine and Katie Dixon Hampton in Blackey, Ky., and had lived in North Georgia for the past 20 years. Michael was a member of South Seminole Baptist Church and retired from Shaw Industries as a computer analyst. He was dedicated to working with Celebrate Recovery and had formed a codependency group called Addictions Victorious. Michael was a devoted Christian who loved studying his Bible and spending time fishing with his sons and grandsons.
He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Cay Poole Hampton; children, Rick (Kim) Hampton, Robin (Woody) Bramblett, both of Titusville, Fl., and Shannon Hampton of Knoxville; step-children, Mike (Becky) Poole of Brandon, Ms., and Rhonda (Glenn) Cox of Ringgold; brother, Bill (Royce) Hampton of Apison; sister, Barbara (Ken) Simpson of Milldesboro, Ky.; grandchildren, Amber (Todd) Entenmann, Josh Wireman, Kayla Bramblett, Lauren Hampton, Kyle Bramblett, Michael Poole, Brandon Poole, Noah Poole, Josh (Brooke) Poole, Mallauri Cox, Brett Warren, and Anthony Warren; great-grandchild, Parker Poole; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Ron Perry officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Gardens-South.
The family will receive friends from 4–8 p.m. on Tuesday and prior to the service on Wednesday.
