Five For One And America Lost

Sunday, June 08, 2014

In other posts here I have read remarks regarding the release of the prisoner.  In some of those remarks you are praising Mr. Obama for his action.  But I don’t see it that way and I would like to express my views on the prisoner swap.

I have many news sites on my computer and read them several times a day.  The first thing we see is Mr. Obama in the White House bragging about securing the release of the prisoner in exchange for five terrorists.  My initial reaction is that five for one is not very good negotiation for my part. But I was glad we had the soldier’s release.

Then as the day wore on, more information came to light regarding the people involved in the exchange.  Now we learned that Mr. Obama gave up the five most dangerous Muslim terrorists we had in captivity for a private soldier who had deserted his post in a combat zone.  The most serious offense a soldier can comment in the military.  Now I am definitely unhappy about the trade.

Soon after our congressional members, including some Democrats, became outraged over the fact that Mr. Obama had broken the law and released the prisoners without notifying congress.

Mr. Obama said that he did not need to comply with the law as he had invoked executive privilege in a situation that was an emergency.  The emergency, according to Mr. Obama, was that the soldier’s health was so bad that death would occur immediately if he did not act.   So the soldier was taken to the military hospital in Germany.  Someone associated with the hospital, to Mr. Obama’s dismay, made an unauthorized comment to the effect that the solder’s physical health was not that bad.  Uh oh, could it be that our president has stood up and lied to us again?

So what does Mr. Obama do?  He gets on his bike and starts back peddling.  Now he says the emergency was that the Taliban was going to shoot the soldier.

Now friends, I am not a police officer, but I have, as an auditor, trained in interview techniques.  I have also talked with an investigator friend and we all agree.  When someone gets on their bike and starts back peddling and changing their story, they are for sure lying to us.  But just assume for a moment that the second story Obama gave was true.  Now I have a worse problem with our president.  If the Taliban threatened to shoot our soldier, than Obama threw up his hands and said “I will give you anything you want, Mr terrorist."  A real leader would have jumped on that.  What do you think would have happened to the Taliban if we had just said we will shoot all five of your wanted prisoners if you shoot our soldier.  I would have much preferred a leader who would have done that then to have bowed down to the terrorists.  Which brings us to another interesting point.

We have had a very firm policy, since 911, that we do not negotiate with terrorists.  According to the press, all of Obama’s white house advisors were against the trade.  His military was very much up in arms over the trade.  And of course, we all heard Mr Obama’s comment to the military when he said “just suck it up and salute.”  During the first campaign John McCain accused Obama of being the kind of person who would negotiate with terrorists.  Obama became irate and swore that would never happen.  Well, Mr. Obama, you lied again.  You negotiated with the terrorist.  And you did so against all advice and at the risk of American lives n the future.

Mr. Obama, in all of his gross arrogance, said he would do the same thing over again.  Now I am left to my owe devises as to the motives of this man.  He put American lives at risk to free five terrorists.  Right after the first election was over, Obama gave an interview that was on televisions.  To my knowledge, you can still find it on the internet.  I would like to quote one remark Mr. Obama made.  He said “I would like to thank Senator John McCain for not raising the issue, during the campaign, of my Muslim faith.”  From his own mouth he admitted he was a practicing Muslim.  Now it leads me to wonder if Obama gave up the five most deadly Muslim terrorists, at the risk of American lives, to appease his Muslim bothers, these deadly terrorists.  Makes me wonder if Obama is anything more than a traitor.  But whatever his motives were, I think the time has definitely come that we need to start using the word “Impeachment.”

Is A Hotel In The Arts District A Good Idea? - And Response

This design certainly looks somewhat better than what was presented before on the new hotel by the Walnut Street Bridge, and I can understand why the developer would want that site. But I just question whether a commercial entity such as a hotel in a residential and arts district is the best option. John Fricke * * * Bluff View Inn anyone?  I am really not a fan ...
