LOS ANGELES -- With Chase Headley's two-out solo home run to left field in the sixth inning Thursday night, Clayton Kershaw's scoreless streak came to an end -- but not before he carved his name into the Major League record books.

Kershaw didn't allow a run over 41 innings, a span that included six starts, a June 18 no-hitter and National League Pitcher of the Month honors for June.

• Kershaw tied for the sixth-longest scoreless streak in the expansion era (since 1961). Former Dodgers pitchers Orel Hershiser (1988) and Don Drysdale ('68) lead the pack with 59 and 58, respectively. Bob Gibson (1968) is third with 47.

• In his 41 scoreless innings, Kershaw allowed 17 hits and struck out 50 batters to just six walks. He held opposing hitters to a .122 average.

• Throughout the streak, only three batters Kershaw faced reached third base -- two on errors.

• Kershaw (11-2) threw nine innings in the 2-1 win Thursday, allowing three hits, one walk with 11 strikeouts. The run he allowed came on Headley's sixth-inning home run. It was Kershaw's third complete game this season, and he won his eighth consecutive start.

• With the start, Kershaw now qualifies for league leaders, and his 1.78 ERA leads the Major Leagues.

• Kershaw joined Sandy Koufax (1966) and Juan Marichal ('67) as the only pitchers in the last 100 years to have won eight straight starts in a single season while striking out seven or more each game, according to Stats, LLC. Kershaw has allowed five earned runs in 61 innings in those eight starts -- a 0.74 ERA. He's struck out 80 and walked six.

Roy Exum: My Great Thanksgiving

In order for you to best understand this, last Thursday was the first Thanksgiving I have ever spent alone.  Don’t misunderstand, I had a fistful of kind invitations but I am the only remaining member of my immediate family around here and I guess I started dwelling on that a little too much as the holiday neared. Making out my “thankful” list helped, and I ate enough with ... (click for more)
