Supporting Patsy Hazlewood Because She's An Independent Thinker - And Response (4)

  • Monday, July 14, 2014

The Republican Primary for the District 27 House seat has two good candidates, Tommy Crangle and Patsy Hazlewood. Both have a similar ideology, conservative with strong family values. Both have professional backgrounds that would serve them well, but in different ways in the legislature.

Patsy's community service is hard to beat, but what really differentiates them is their voting history. Tommy touts his consistent Republican voting record, which is admirable. However, I believe Patsy will be a more independent thinker. For that reason I am supporting Patsy Hazlewood in the Republican Primary for the House District 27.

Conservative, accessible, competent, an experienced and proven leader, excellent business and interpersonal skills, extremely hard-working, and a great desire to serve our state--this is what we need in our representative from District 27.

Since this describes Patsy Hazlewood she will be getting my vote in the primary election beginning July 18.

Let's elect a representative who will put her constituents above her personal interests and will serve us diligently and well in the legislature.

Patsy Hazlewood will effectively represent the residents of District 27. She has lived in the community for over 30 years and has spent a substantial amount of time making our community a better place.

One of Patsy’s skills that has helped her effectively lead our community is listening. She has worked several roles where she had to listen to customer’s concerns and frustrations and find a way to solve them. We can expect the same to happen as her constituents.

Patsy also has a great sense of strategic visioning and planning, which has been shown in her organizing of Capital Mark Bank. Patsy will listen to the voice of the people of District 27, and she will carefully vision and plan what needs to be done for our district to reach its full potential.

Vote Patsy Hazlewood for state representative of District 27 for effective representation.

We are writing this letter in support of Patsy Hazlewood for Tennessee state representative of District 27.  Her years of experience in the private and public sectors more than qualify her as the top candidate for this seat.

Appointed by Governor Bill Haslam to serve as the southeastern regional director for the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Patsy developed strategic alliances with businesses to generate economic growth in our region in just under three years.    Her more than 30 years as an executive with AT&T, and her proven record as a community leader, make her worthy of your vote.

Having known Patsy for many years and worked with her in the community, we have seen her present herself as a very reasonable, educated and steady leader.  She voluntarily served on numerous boards, including the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, Board of the Better Business Bureau, Tennessee Aquarium, United Way of Greater Chattanooga and River City Company.  We are confident that Patsy will represent the 27th district with the integrity, common sense and effectiveness necessary for continued economic development, improvements in education, and increased quality of life in our community.

We encourage you to cast your vote for Patsy Hazlewood.

Please consider voting for Patsy Hazlewood for Tennessee state representative (District 27).  I have known Patsy for several years in a variety of capacities, including having the opportunity to work alongside her in our church. Patsy’s character, authenticity, and effectiveness in serving in business, church, and our community make her an excellent candidate to serve in our government.  Patsy has the unique ability to work with and gain trust from people with differing beliefs and political convictions without compromising her values, principles, and integrity.

Without reservation and with enthusiasm, I ask you to vote for Patsy Hazlewood for Tennessee state representative.

Early Voting is July 18 through Aug. 2, and regular voting is Aug. 7. Thank you for your consideration.
