Fire Does $25,000 In Damage At Ooltewah Trucking Firm

The wheels of a tractor-trailer caught fire.at a trucking company at Ooltewah shortly after midnight.

At 12:21 a.m., an employee called 911 reporting a tractor-trailer was on fire at Biggs Trucking Company at 7923 Sue Dr.

The Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department responded and arrived reporting heavy smoke coming from the building. Firefighters entered the building to find the back wheels of an 18-wheeler on fire.

Chief Steve Wright reported employees had been working on the rear wheels of a tractor trailer when they caught fire. The fire was so hot that it melted the aluminum siding of the tractor-trailer.

Fire officials reported damages are listed at $25,000. No injuries were reported, but Hamilton County EMS was on the scene for any potential injuries.
