Smith, Frances Lena Bonine (Chickamauga)

Frances Lena Bonine Smith, 82, of Chickamauga, Georgia, died on Tuesday, July 15, 2014.

She was a lifelong resident of Chickamauga and attended of Cooper Heights Church of God. She was born to the late John and Maggie Freeman Bonine in Chattanooga and was a loving mother, sister and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

Frances was also preceded in death by her husband, Clevo Alvin Smith; children, Joyce Miller and Stanley Smith; and siblings, Leona Holland, Bernice Bonine, and Marie Bonine.

She is survived by her children, Patricia (Robert) Underwood of Chickamauga, Wanda (Jerry) Simms of LaFayette, Rosa Stanhope of Chickamauga, Billy Ray Smith of Jasper, Randy Smith of Tennessee, and Deborah (Larry) Dalton of Flintstone; brother, Roger Bonine of Chickamauga; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 18, at Kenemer Baptist Church Cemetery, Flat Rock, Al., with Reverend Vernon Jones, Sr. officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, and prior to leaving for the service on Friday.

Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
