The Super PAC Dilemma

Thursday, July 17, 2014

I find it very interesting when I read Weston Wamp's response to Congressman Chuck Fleischmann's statement concerning Super PACs. Mr. Fleischmann pointed out the fact that Mr. Wamp was once very critical of Super PACs in a prior campaign, yet now seems to welcome Super PAC donations when it benefits him.

Personally, I agree with the majority (conservative justices) of the Supreme Court that limiting Super Political Action Committees spending power would limit free speech thus violating the 1st Amendment. I am just uncertain now on what Mr. Wamp believes concerning this issue. I read his statement, but it is unsatisfactory in my opinion.

I would also like Mr. Fleischmann to clearly state his opinion on this issue also. We all know that actions speak louder than words. If one condemns a Super PAC, but then refuses to denounce them when they favor you, what is that called?

Back when I was in elementary ... (click for more)

EPB Video As Percentage Of Fiber Customers Going Down, But That's Fine With Management

With more and more video customers turning to streaming options, EPB's video is dropping as a percentage of overall fiber customers. But that's fine with EPB management, knowing that all that video streaming needs a wide fiber pipeline to go through. EPB is positioned with the best "gig" service.
