Harold Payne
Harold D. Payne, 78, died on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at home.
He was retired from TVA, and a U.S. Marine veteran having served in the Korean War. He loved God, his country, and his family. He never met a stranger and was always in high spirits.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leona and Russell Payne, and a daughter, Mariam Rosser.
Survivors include his wife, Rosanna Payne; daughters, Beth (Robby) Fraley of Soddy-Daisy; Sylvia Hillshirem of Minnesota; son, Steven Auerbach of Akron, Ohio; grandsons, Asher Fraley, Ryan Auerbach, Joseph Hillshirem; and granddaughter, LeAnn Auerbach.
A celebration of Harold’s life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, in the chapel with Reverend Alan Rogers and Bishop Calvin Nunley officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Marine military honors on Monday, July 21, at 2:30 p.m.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 19, from 3-5 p.m. and on Sunday, July 20, from 12 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
