The Dodgers' top prospect, Corey Seager, would have been in the lineup for Friday's game in Mobile against the BayBears except for the rain.

Friday night's game was postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday evening with first pitch in game one scheduled for 6:05 PM ET at Hank Aaron Stadium.

Game two will start approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.

To make room for Seager, Alberto Rosario has been moved to the disabled list. The Lookouts need a spark since they have lost 5-of-their-last 6 games, and three consecutive games.

Seager, 20, was promoted after he batted .352 with 18 home runs in 80 games at Class A Rancho Cucamonga. He led the California League with 34 doubles, a .633 slugging percentage and a 1.044 OPS.

Seager was one of the Dodgers' two representatives at Sunday's Futures Game. He was allowed to stay in Minneapolis an extra couple of days to see his brother, Kyle Seager, play in the All-Star Game for the American League Tuesday.

The Dodgers signed the infielder to a $2.35 million bonus after making him the 18th pick overall.
Kyle Seager is the third baseman for the Seattle Mariners. Their middle brother, Justin Seager, is also in the Mariners farm system. He was the 2013 Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Year while a member of the Charlotte 49ers.

MINNEAPOLIS --  Starting at shortstop, Seager went 0-for-1 and was hit by a pitch in Sunday's SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game for the U.S. squad in its 3-2 victory over the World team. The experience was a nice transition for Seager, a reward of sorts. Because instead of returning to the Dodgers' Rancho Cucamonga Class A Advanced affiliate upon leaving Minnesota, Seager will join the organization's Double-A Chattanooga affiliate.

The 20-year-old understood the implications of his promotion. "They say that Double-A is the best competition ..." He didn't finish the sentence, but he didn't have to. Double-A is widely considered the primary stepping-stone en route to the Major Leagues -- a destination that has been envisioned for Seager since the Dodgers selected him in the first round (18th overall) of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft.

MLB.com ranked Seager as the Dodgers' top prospect and 28th-best among Minor Leaguers from all organizations.

Leaders Lead On Amendment 1

This week the Hamilton County Commission was faced with what I believe may be one of the most important votes they have cast during their tenure.  Granted, the vote was over a "mere" Resolution that resulted in no overt action or new law in our county.  But there are times when simply speaking Truth and taking a stand on a foundational Principle is paramount and as such ... Hark! It is the first day of October and, as I make my monthly stroll through the garden, I find a growing numbers of leaves and acorns. Autumn leaves are beautiful while acorns are nuts, thus you will get the idea as we make our monthly awards: A PRETTY LEAF to Phil Hughes after the Minnesota Twins pitcher came within one inning of earning a $500,000 bonus this season. The deal ... (click for more)
