Daniel Lee Burton
An East Ridge man was taken into custody after police said he chased three juveniles around a street with a sword.
Police were alerted to the situation when a woman saw the defendant, 31-year-old Daniel Lee Burton, chase the teens across an intersection.
As the woman approached, she said Burton placed the sword in the trunk of a silver Nissan.
When police arrived, they spoke to Burton. He told them he had "hollered at them to get off the road" and pulled out a sword after one of the juveniles called him a rapist as he was driving up.
He told police that in the past, the juveniles had not been paying attention while he was driving and they were in the street.
He also said they had previously put sand into his mailbox.
He denied chasing the juveniles, saying he had only waved the sword and yelled.
Burton was charged with three counts of aggravated assault. Bond was set at $2,000.
