Lillian Colene Green, 85, of Lafayette, GA, died Thursday afternoon, July 17, 2014 at her home.
Lillian was born November 3, 1928 in Henderson County, NC, to the late John Henry and Mamie Odessa Smith Montieth; and was also preceded in death by her husband, James Allison Green; son, Michael Anthony Green; granddaughter, Toni White; brothers, George Montieth, Dan Montieth, Willie Montieth and John Montieth; and sisters, Geneva Whaley, Clara Roy, Ninnie Knight, Lorene McBrayer andDorothy McBrayer.
She was a member of the Lakeside Baptist Church.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Delores Green of Lafayette, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Gary White of Rocky Face, GA; sister, Ruby Baggett of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren, Stacey and Tim Stewart and John Green; great-granddaughter, Braeleigh Stewart; brother-in-law, Robert Green of Blue Ridge, GA; sister-in-law, Martha Montieth of Dalton, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Lillian Colene Green will be held Sunday, July 20, at 2 p.m. at the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Scott Hobbs and Reverend Clyde Painter officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Concord Cemetery in Walker County.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, July 19.
