Newly-Crowned Miss Tennessee 2014 To Make Public Appearance In Chattanooga

Wednesday, July 2, 2014

Hayley Lewis, Miss Tennessee 2014, will be at the Splash Salon on Thursday, to meet residents and sign autographs.

She will also spend time with little Ema McLaughen of Ooltewah, the five-year-old girl who stole hearts at this year’s Miss Tennessee pageant after being personally invited to attend the Opening Ceremony and family visitation by Darby Schumacher, Miss Metropolitan 2014 and spending time with Miss Tennessee 2013, Shelby Thompson.

Ema has hydrocephalus, a chronic neurological condition with no cure and where the only treatment option requires brain surgery. Ema had two brain surgeries, just one week prior to the Miss Tennessee Pageant Opening Ceremony to replace her shunt, an implant that drains fluid from her brain because her body is unable to do it unassisted.

She is excited to meet the newly-crowned Miss Tennessee with other Chattanoogans who will attend the event, which is open to the public.

Police Need To Stop The Road Cowboys - And Response (2)

Where is our highway patrol?  If they were known to regularly patrol our interstate highways through our city I don't think it would take long before the "truckers" were aware of it.  There are places in our country where this is the case.   When I have traveled Interstates 24 and 75 I may see the occasional car pulled over but rarely if ever is it an 18-wheeler. ... Roy Exum: Never Disturb The Dead

I’ve got too many things in my life that scare me so I’ve always been real leery of “unnecessary fear.” A guy named Terry wanted to teach me how to catch a live rattlesnake one time but had a tough time telling me what exactly to do with the angry serpent when the time came to let it go. I have the same view of these paranormal societies where otherwise sane people go around looking ... (click for more)
