Newly-Crowned Miss Tennessee 2014 To Make Public Appearance In Chattanooga

  • Wednesday, July 2, 2014

Hayley Lewis, Miss Tennessee 2014, will be at the Splash Salon on Thursday, to meet residents and sign autographs.

She will also spend time with little Ema McLaughen of Ooltewah, the five-year-old girl who stole hearts at this year’s Miss Tennessee pageant after being personally invited to attend the Opening Ceremony and family visitation by Darby Schumacher, Miss Metropolitan 2014 and spending time with Miss Tennessee 2013, Shelby Thompson.

Ema has hydrocephalus, a chronic neurological condition with no cure and where the only treatment option requires brain surgery. Ema had two brain surgeries, just one week prior to the Miss Tennessee Pageant Opening Ceremony to replace her shunt, an implant that drains fluid from her brain because her body is unable to do it unassisted.

She is excited to meet the newly-crowned Miss Tennessee with other Chattanoogans who will attend the event, which is open to the public.
