Dummer Named ‘Top 20’ Outstanding AICPA Instructor

Henderson Hutcherson & McCullough announced that the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), named Randy Dummer, CPA, an Outstanding Instructor for the 6th year in a row.  He is featured in the Journal of Accountancy as a ‘Top 20 Instructor’. 

Mr. Dummer was chosen from over 200 instructors. He earned one of the highest average evaluation ratings while teaching a minimum of 10 sessions.  

He teaches seminars across the country to other CPAs on accounting and audit topics including courses on employee benefit plan audits, accounting and audit updates, compilations and reviews, and services to automobile dealerships.  

Mr. Dummer received a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse, graduating with highest honors. Mr.  Dummer and his family reside in Ooltewah.

 


Metro Dalton’s Unemployment Rate Rises To 5.5 Percent In June

Northwest Georgia’s Unemployment Rate Rises To 5 Percent In June

The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that the unemployment rate in the Northwest Georgia region in June was 5 percent, up three-tenths of a percentage point from 4.7 percent in May. In June 2016, the rate was 5.6 percent The rate rose as the number of unemployed residents increased and the labor force grew. The number of unemployed increased by 1,541 to 20,933. ... Man Jumped Into River To Escape Robbers Who Killed His Wife At Renaissance Park; Tyree Corley Arrested In Shooting Death Of Kathy Hardy

A man told police he jumped into the Tennessee River to escape from robbers who killed his wife at Renaissance Park early Sunday morning, July 16. Tyree Tichion Corley, 22, of 3810 Sherwood Lane, has been charged with felony murder and especially aggravated robbery in the fatal shooting of Kathy Hardy. Desmond Clay Shot And Killed On Wilcox Boulevard

Chattanooga Police said 39-year-old Desmond Clay was shot and killed while driving in a vehicle on Wilcox Boulevard on Wednesday night.   At 10:18 p.m., o fficers responded to a person shot call  at 3399 Wilcox Blvd.   The v ictim was located in a vehicle that crashed into a business.
