Arrival Of Almost $20 Million In Federal Funds Puts Erlanger In The Black

  • Wednesday, July 2, 2014

The arrival of almost $20 million in federal funds has put the Erlanger Health System in the black for the first time in several years.

Erlanger CEO Kevin Spiegel had pointed out that Erlanger should have been entitled to participate in funding set aside for essential-access hospitals. His efforts paid off with the award of some $30 million.

Erlanger already has received a Public Hospital Supplemental Payment of $19,587,000.

That pushed Erlanger to a profit of $15.8 million at the end of May.

The fiscal year ended at the close of June.
