D. Striker
D. Striker

D. Striker will be playing at JJ's Bohemia on Thursday, July 17, with Big Kitty.  The Chattanooga show is a part of a tour in support of D. Striker's new album, Come Over Here.

Review for D. Striker:

There are 13 tracks on the album. A few highlights: "Three Dudes In An Office" questions the sincerity of chest-thumping country boys singing redneck odes penned by Music Row office writers. The song "She Don't Want Me (She Just Wants Attention)" finds the song's narrator baffled by a woman who blows up his phone with text messages but cannot give him attention in person. And "Come Over Here (If You Wanna Get Down)" is a slinky invitation with horns and disco beat to, well, get down.

A video for the song "Country Dance Off" also appears on the album. The video loosely follows the story of the time D. Striker infiltrated the Country Dance World's Championships at the Opryland Hotel.  They shot it on location.

Chattanooga’s Live Music Scene – Memorial Day Tributes

Most World War II veterans are into their 90’s now, so the chance to hear the stories they tell is shrinking at a fast rate. Just a few weeks ago I lost a friend, Jack Jordan, who served in the Navy during WWII. While it is ok to thank a living veteran at Memorial Day, ... (click for more)

Parking Discrimination Downtown

Many taxpayers who reside in Chattanooga (but outside Chattanooga's core) feel left behind when it comes to neighborhood paving, sidewalks, policing, streetscaping, street sweeping, public transportation, and other services. Some think most tax dollars are spent on downtown and not in their neighborhoods. It's not as if they can't vicariously experience the largesse of downtown. ... (click for more)

Roy Exum: One Nameless Ghost

One hundred years ago the United States was at war. The most intense fighting during World War I was on what was called The Western Front. The Germans wanted to invade France from the north and in order to do it, they had to push through Flanders province in Belgium. It has been described as a hell unequalled in raw hand-to-hand combat, In just four months on Flanders fields, ... (click for more)
