Couple Fall About 30 Feet At Signal Mountain

  • Sunday, July 20, 2014

A young woman and young man both suffered injuries in falling some 30 feet at 317 N Palisades Dr. on Saturday night.

The Signal Mountain Fire Department requested Waldens Ridge Emergency Services for mutual aid after the call came in at 11:30 p.m.

The rescue was complete at 1:22 a.m.

Hamilton County EMS transported both to the hospital.

The incident was at the north observation area near Dawn Street.

Witnesses to the falls said the young woman dropped something off the rock wall and tried to retrieve it. In doing so, she fell over the rock retaining wall.

The young man somehow went over, unintentionally, after the young woman.

Rescuers pulled the woman up in a Stokes basket. They then pulled the male up. Witnesses said he had a torn T-shirt. He walked to the pull-off area where he sat on a small rock wall where he was quizzed by police.
