District 5 School Board Candidate Forum Is July 31

The Tyner Community Group is hosting a District 5 School Board Candidate Forum on Thursday, July 31, from 6-8 p.m., at the Tyner Community Center, 6900 Ty-Hi Dr.

School District 5 (County Commission 5) schools include Brainerd High, Dalewood Middle, Hillcrest Elementary, Lakeside Academy, Tyner Middle Academy, Tyner Academy, Woodmore Elementary and Washington Alternative.

This event is free and open to the public.

Lawsuit Says Girl Received Severe Traumatic Brain Injury In Woodmore Bus Wreck

A new lawsuit in the tragic Woodmore Elementary School bus wreck said one girl on the bus suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. Officer Who Was Shot Returned Fire; Is Recovering Well; Shooter Still On Loose

Chattanooga Police Chief Fred Fletcher said Monday morning that the officer who was shot three times on Thursday is recovering well.   Chief Fletcher said the officer was wearing a bullet-proof vest and one bullet hit the vest, which protected him during the shooting.  The officer was able to return fire, although Chief Fletcher would not comment on how many bullets ...
