Global Leadership Summit At Abba's House Is Aug. 14-15

Leaders from business, government, education, churches, and the arts are among the faculty who will address Christian leaders at Willow Creek Association’s 2014 Global Leadership Summit, broadcast live via satellite from Willow Creek’s South Barrington, Il. location and hosted locally by Abba’s House in Hixson.

On Aug. 14 and 15, more than 80,000 will gather at 310+ churches across the U.S. to hear from an internationally known faculty that includes Tyler Perry, filmmaker, actor, and philanthropist; Jeffrey Immelt, president and CEO of General Electric; Carly Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett-Packard and Chairman of Good 360; Wilfredo De Jesús, senior pastor at New Life Covenant Church, author, and one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2013; and Bill Hybels, founder and senior pastor at Willow Creek Community Church.

Strong Thunderstorm Causes Damage, Power Outages In Dalton

Shortly before  5 p.m. , a strong thunderstorm went through downtown Dalton, knocking down numerous trees, causing power outages and also causing damage. At this time, no injuries have been reported.  The Dalton Fire Department and Dalton Police Department responded to multiple reports of damage.
