Men's 3.5 Tennis Team Win State

The "Chattanooga" men's 3.5 tennis team posted a 4-0 record to win the USTA Tennessee state team title this past weekend and will compete in the Southern Sectional August  22-24 in Asheville,N.C.

Coached by Greg Hadden, the champions defeated previously unbeaten Memphis Worth, 3-2, for the title with the final match decided by a third set, 10-point tie-breaker.

Final Standings Chattanooga (4-0), Memphis Worth (3-1), Nashville Bickerstaff (2-2), Memphis Mueller (1-3), Knoxville Liu (0-4).

Person Shot On Sylvan Drive And Later Dies; Involved In Crash On North Market Street

Chattanooga Police said one person was shot on Sylvan Drive on Monday night and later was involved in a two-vehicle crash in the 700 block of N. Market Street. That person was dead at North Market.
