Somehow It Bothers Me - And Response (2)

Wednesday, July 23, 2014
Somehow it bothers me when Putin is assuming world leadership that America once applied so wisely, when Israel is being showered with HAMAS rockets, when the Ukraine's existence is being threatened, when Christians are being persecuted and killed by Muslim extremist, innocent people lose their lives and rebels boast of shooting down their commercial plane...That our President chooses to go on a fundraising tour for Democrat elections.

And all we talk about is "reaching across the aisle".  Kind of hard to do when there's no one there.

I don't think there are any GOP arms being extended across any aisles. Zero. Nada.

That aside, did it bother you when W ignored Katrina and told Brownie he was doing, "a heck of a job?" Did it bother you that we invented a war for oil that resulted in destabilization of the whole Mideast, a loss of nearly 5,000 American lives, and a cost of $823 billion?

If those two atrocities made you as angry as they make me, then you have my apologies. Otherwise, perhaps choose a different topic to be indignant about.

I agree. It does bother me when fundraising takes place during a world crisis! I'm still dumbfounded on how President Bush, the man "men" I voted for, went on fundraising trips only hours after terrorists attacks in Iraq and Madrid. Remember the subway bombings? Thank goodness our elected officials on both sides of the political pothole have the talent to multitask. How horrible would it be if they were unable to have the ability of reasonable thought or problem solving?

I know that in my life when something bad happens that I still need to take care of business under my own roof. It's a simple task. The lawn need mowing but it rains. Do I wait 3-4 hours for the grass to dry and risk another rainfall and darkness, or do I start cooking dinner and feed the dogs? That's called multitasking. It's a simple example but it works.

It reminds me of when Fox News went crazy on the number of vacations the President took. Until it was pointed out that our current POTUS was far behind other presidents on vacation time. Then the outrage from my GOP suddenly disappeared.  Heck, I like golf and vacations as much as Obama, Bush, Bush, Clinton, Carter, Regan, and Ford... well duck with Ford on the list of vacationing presidents that have swung a club.

And, I'm not sure how many people in the Ukraine or the West Bank voted for Bush, Romney, Obama, Ford, Kennedy, Dole, Paul, Lincoln, Washington, etc., etc., or anyone else on a United States election ballot.

Mr. Wood, you do bring up a wonderful point.  I join with Bobby Wood in calling for all elected officials to stop what they are doing right now.  I would love to see a list of all members of Congress, both houses, or future Presidential candidates that have have canceled all fundraising efforts during the last week. If anyone has it then please post it if you have one and I will take that list into consideration when I cast a vote.

You can already write off anyone running for any office in the Chattanooga market. I've seen ads from both sides for several seats all week long. So those people are already disqualified from any office and for possibly running for President. Ted Cruz didn't seem to mind the crisis this week. But that does not matter as he is from Canada.

Just a side note for those hoping to write a predictable response. I'm American, I love the country, I'm a patriot, my family and I are Army Strong and Coast Guard Strong, guns are fine, etc., etc., etc.

We The People

“We the People.”  The single most important phrase in the United States Constitution.  Yet it appears to be more and more ignored.  Not long ago” We the People” voted in all 50 states in favor of a Constitutional amendment to protect the sanctity of and define marriage as a union between one man and one woman. However we have a President who did not agree, a Justice ... (click for more)

Double Standards And The Police

Today I received a ticket in the mail. I was not pulled over. No officer saw me speeding.  And yet, I, as a citizen, received a ticket in the mail for the sum of no less than $50.  I was doing 15 over after a long 12-hour shift of working in the emergency room at my hospital of employment.   Interestingly enough, two Chattanooga police officers were recently caught ...
