Stolz Earns No. 2 Seeding In State Match Play

KNOXVILLE -- UT-Martin senior Brendon Caballero from Brentwood earned the No. 1 seeding for the round of 16 in the Tennessee Match Play Tournament here Friday at the Holston Hills Country Club.

Caballero shot 131 (64-67) for the No. 1 seeding. Chattanooga's Zac Stolz at 133 earned the No. 2 seeding.

The quarterfinals and semifinals will take place Saturday with the final on Sunday.

Loftis Middle School Wins Ooltewah Tournament

The Loftis Middle School volleyball team won the Ooltewah tournament on Saturday. Loftis is now 6-0 overall.   They beat Soddy, Lake Forrest and Sale Creek in the opening rounds.  In tournament play, they beat Lake Forrest, East Hamilton to advance to the finals against Red Bank Middle.  They beat Red Bank Middle in the finals for the championship.   (click for more)
