Martha Ashmore Jenkins, 70, of Chickamauga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 25.
She had lived most of her life in the Ringgold and Boynton areas and was a member of Saint Gerard's Catholic Church. She had worked at Mohawk Industries for more than 35 years but her true passion in life for always caring for others. She was a caregiver at heart and volunteered at the Senior Center in Chickamauga, The Village Living Center where she lived, as well as working with Hutcheson as a Tech 2 both in the hospital and with the hospice unit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Ashmore and Florence "Nana" Ashmore; grandson, James Travillian; brothers, Jimmy, Arthur and Michael Ashmore and sister, Donna Ashmore Hardy.
Survivors include her three daughters and sons-in-law, Wende Reinhart of Castalian Springs, Tn., Missie and (Jonathan) Harris of Verbena, Al., and Jenni and (Troy) Roth of Wasilla, Al.; six grandchildren, Josh Travillian, Justina Travillian, Korey Derocher, Koel Derocher, Chase Newby and Christian Newby; three great-grandchildren, Kaliona, Jaymeigh and Mckynlee and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later date and will be announced by the family.
