Alfred Leroy Brown, age 71, of Trion, Georgia, died on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Brown was born August 9, 1942, in Trion, son of the late Alfred Lee Brown and Mattie Ruth Maddux Brown. He was retired from Harriet and Henderson Yarns.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Alva “Nell” Brown; son and daughter-in-law, Lewis and Regina Brown; daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Michael Weeks, Rachel and Steve Bruce, and Amanda Brown; brother and sister-in-law, Edmond and Brenda Brown; sisters, Ann Sweet and Doris Ford; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jeff Ford officiating. Burial will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Lee Brown, Blake Brown, Doug Gill, Tony Ingle, and Curtis Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Randy Floyd.

Mr. Brown will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29.
