Caballero Tops Stolz In Match Play Final

KNOXVILLE -- Brendon Caballero defeated Chattanooga's Zac Stolz, 2 and 1, in the final of the 11th Tennessee Match Play Championship at the Holston Hills Country Club.

Caballero, from Brentwood, beat Michael Monroe, 4 and 3, in a semifinal. Stolz advanced to the final with a 4 and 3 win over Matt Cooper.

In he Senior Division, Tony Green defeated Tim Jackson, 1 up.


Cleveland State Baseball Wins 8-7 Over Columbia State

 After coming up empty handed in the first two games of their series with Columbia State, Cleveland State was able to pick up a win in the third and final series game on Saturday.  Facing two quality teams on Saturday at home, the Covenant men's tennis team defeated Huntingdon 5-4 in the day's first match before suffering a 5-4 loss to non-conference foe Berry in the second match. Car Crashes Into Motel 6 In Dalton; Driver, 17, Admits To Texting While Driving

The Dalton Police Department and Dalton Fire Department responded Saturday morning to a crash at the Motel 6 at Highway 41 and Tibbs Road.
