American Legion Holds Golf Tournament Aug. 23

William E. Blair Post 95 of the American Legion will hold its annual golf tournament on Saturday, Aug. 23 at the Brown Acres Golf Club. Sign-in is at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. 

Now is the time to start getting your teams together. Registration is $75 per person or $300 per four person team for this select shot tournament. Flights and cash prizes will depend on the number of teams registered. There will be a $5000 hole in one prize available. Registrations must be paid by August 20.

After the tournament there will be food and an awards ceremony at the Legion Hall located at 3329 Ringgold Road in East Ridge. Registration forms can be picked up at the post or at area golf courses. For further information contact the post at 624-9105.

UDC #900 Awards Supplementals And Adds New Member

Linda Ballew and her daughter Christy Peden were presented supplemental certificates on April 15 by UDC #900 Jefferson Davis Chapter President Marilyn Kinne and Registrar Anita Green.  The Chapter also added member Andrea Akers. 2nd Severe Storm In 2 Days Hammers Hamilton County; Many In Red Bank Lose Power

The second severe storm in two days was hammering Hamilton County on Sunday evening, knocking out power to a section centering on Red Bank, but also other areas. Lymorris Martin, 59, Stabbed To Death; Rachel Green, 51, Is Arrested

Chattanooga Police responded to the 3200 block of Broad Street early Sunday morning to a person who had been stabbed.   Upon arrival, officers with the Chattanooga Police Department located Lymorris Martin, 59, who had received multiple stab wounds.
