Fred Glenn Cook, Jr. 83, Rossville, died on Monday July 28, 2014.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Walker County, the son of the late Fred and Eva Harris Cook.  Mr. Cook joined the First Baptist Church of Rossville on May 22, 1941. He was an active deacon and a choir member. 

Fred retired from the United States Postal Service in 1990 with 30 years of service.  He attended Lakeview Elementary School and was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1948, and attended West Georgia College.

Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Elbert and Elizabeth Harris, Frank and Dallas Cook, infant son, Roger Alan Cook, brother, Lamar H. Cook, and sister, Martha Ann Smith. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Herschelene Powell Cook, son and daughter-in-law, Fred G (Karen) Cook III; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen Denise (Marco) Cevenini; five loving grandchildren, Jennifer, Courtney, and Ashley Cook, Sophia and Marco Cevenini. 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug.1, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Paul Williams and Reverend Don Givens officiating. Interment will in Peavine Cemetery.
